From the genus Oligopygus, these fossilized sand dollars once lived in the Eocene Epoch, between 55 -34 million years ago. So, it's not surprising that only about 1 out of 3 found are high enough quality for jewelry use.  It is said that these stones were once used in the Lost City of Atlantis as currency so they are affectionately called "Mermoney"!

This open band ring features a fossilized sand dollar paired with a naturally tumbled piece of sea glass found on the beach in Barnstable, Massachusetts.

  • Size 7 3/4 - the band allows for slight size adjustment
  • Measures about 40mm x 32mm
  • Sterling silver
